QUESTIONS?

The following information will help you fit, paint and finish the installation. If the idea of removing the tail lights and the bumper is somewhat foreign to you, STOP and seek professional assistance. The following will answer some of the most asked questions but is not a guide for installation.

Q. Will I have to remove the bumper?
A. No. The DeVille, Fleetwood and Brougham's bumpers are not removed totally, but loosened significantly to allow placement of the filler panel. One side is loosened and the other side has the bolts removed. This will allow placement on the side with the bolts removed. For the other side, put the bolts back in the side you just installed and repeat the above procedure. DO NOT allow the weight of the bumper to hang on the filler panel.

Q. How do I prepare and paint this plastic?
A. The panel filler is already primed and should be scuffed with 220 or 320 sandpaper before painting. No special flex paint is necessary.

Q. Will I use the original hardware?
A. No. The original frame that has the fast thread studs is no longer needed. The purpose of that frame was to give the original rubber filler panel a sharp look that rubber itself could not attain. Your replacement filler panel is made with a stiff edge and does attain a look of sharpness without extra support from the frame. Besides, the frame won't fit anyway.

Q. How does the chrome molding adhere? (Not applicable to all cars.)
A. The installer must drill a hole for the chrome attachment screw. You will reuse the original chrome molding.

Q. During the installation the filler was damaged. What can I do?
A. If the damage is severe, broken pieces or Bucky Beaver tried to install the filler, it can e returned for replacement. We stand behind our products and understand that mistakes can happen. We will replace (one time only) any product we sell to the original customer as long as the damaged part is returned and you pay freight both ways. Replacement not valid if car is involved in an accident. If we made a mistake we pay freight, but still need the damaged parts returned.

Q. The pre-drilled holes don't fit. Now what?

A. the holes were drilled after a pattern of the original placement from the original manufacturer. If the holes are not in alignment with your care you can elongate the hole(s) needed to ensure proper alignment. A regular knife can be used for small adjustments.
